Words A Mom Can Live By
Updated: Oct 15, 2023
It’s 3 am and that little one is screaming again, you look at the clock and think “I was just up feeding him/her why are they awake again!? I’m tired and can’t do this!”

I get it, my peanut would go through the same cycles. You think you’re in the clear and BAM, they are back up screaming like you’ve ignored them for hours. This is where frustration kicks in and that can be a dangerous place. I have been repeating some mantras to myself that have been said to me since the start of my motherhood journey and I wanted to share them with you as well to get through those moments. Deep breathe, it’s a short one but a good one promise.
Baby won’t stop crying? Baby is fussy? Baby just won’t go back to sleep? Are you exhausted and sleep-deprived?
This is just a season you are currently in, let it pass.
It will not last forever.
You will sleep again soon, remember your little one is learning everything for the first time they are tired too and you’re their comfort. Just 5 more minutes in the rocking chair.
Feeling too frustrated and getting angry? A baby never got hurt from crying. Put them in a safe place, like a crib free from toys and blankets, shut the door and walk away.
Baby refuses to nap anywhere but on you?
You are who they connected with right from the start, you are their comfort. They are still learning to comfort themselves and by picking them up you are teaching them that.
Baby is a terror only with you but an angel with anyone else?
You are their safe place. They can share/show all their big feelings with you because they know there will be no judgment, anger, or disgust. Only love and comfort.
Feeling alone in the middle of the night feeding?
Around the world, there are hundreds of nursery lights on around the world with mommas and babies up with you. You are not alone.

What are some words you live by to get through the hard times of being a mom?
